Look What's in Store for 2024!
Our Bedford Story is expanding! Last year we collected over 80 stories from residents of the Town of Bedford and Bedford County, all of whom shared any experience they wanted to tell about living here. Throughout 2024, we will publish some of the stories, both in the Bedford Bulletin and here on our website. We invite you to comment on the published stories - or tell your own story here.
We also plan to collect more stories focused on assorted topics and landmarks in Bedford this year, and we'll be available to facilitate more group or one-on-one storytelling. If you are interested in hosting a group, or have a specific topic or landmark you'd like to see in the mix, we'd love to hear from you at bedfordgettogether@gmail.com.

A Community Mural will come to life on the side of the building owned by Radford and Wandrei, P.C. overlooking Centertown Park.
We envision a mural that will pay tribute to the many contributions made by Bedford's diverse military members, including women and African-American military members, and it will focus on the ideal that those who serve, regardless of race or sex, are looking out for each other - and for our community as a whole. When viewing the completed mural, we hope everyone will experience appreciation and a heightened understanding, respect and pride in the accomplishments of our diverse community, including those on the home front.
A call for artists has been released and we will begin taking submissions on April 15.
We are so grateful for the many donations we received last year, and we are actively pursuing grants to partially fund the mural, but this project will not be possible without additional support and donations from the community. If you are interested in helping this project become a reality, please donate to the mural here. You can also donate by mailing a check to Bedford Get Together, PO Box 1184 Bedford, VA 24523.
