We are excited to be in the final stages of preparations for Bedford Get Together this Saturday 10 to 4 at Edmund Street Park and looking forward to seeing you between 8:00 and 9:30 am that morning! Here is some additional information that we hope will be helpful to you as you arrive at the event:
IMPORTANT MESSAGES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS:
- SET-UP: The event area lies between Edmund Street and Liberty Street (see map on event website www.bedfordgettogether.weebly.com). All participants are asked to enter the event area for set up from the Liberty Street side of the field. If you are coming to the event on Edmund Street, just take a right onto Federal Street before you get to the Park, and then a left onto Liberty Street to access the set up area. (If you miss the turn onto Federal Street, please continue on Edmund Street up the hill and around the back of the Bedford Science and Technology Center, then back down to the set up entrance).
- INCLEMENT WEATHER PLANS: We expect Saturday to be a warm, sunny day! In the unlikely case the weather forecast changes to the extent that an outside event is not practicable, we will move inside the Bedford Science and Technology Center. In this case, your Values Coordinator will contact you to let you know your set up location at the Center.
- VOLUNTEERS: We appreciate that some of you indicated that you had recruited volunteers to help with the overall event. If so, please ask them to attend a meeting at 8:00 am Saturday at the Pavilion for instructions and related information.
If you are participating in a Values Area: Each Values Area will be demarcated by a tall pole with a different color flag. Please check the list at the end of this e-mail to find your area, its flag color and your Values Coordinator/contact information. The map on the event website (www.bedfordgettogether.weebly.com) also shows the general location of each area and its flag color. Always feel free to contact your Coordinator with any questions you have about the location or set up of your particular area.
If you are setting up for the entire event, please note the following:
- Don’t forget to bring your own table, tent and/or chairs. We will not have any extras of these items available.
- After you complete set (no later than 9:30 am), we ask that you move your vehicle to the parking lot up the hill at the back of Bedford Science and Technology Center. Electric cars will on site to bring you back to the event area (and take you back to your vehicle after the event).
- Just a reminder that, as a themed event designed exclusively to give back to our community, except for the invited food vendors, the event organizers ask that you not sell any merchandise or solicit donations of any kind in keeping with the themes of giving back and hospitality.
If you are conducting a time-limited demonstration, presentation, or entertainment: Please see the schedule of activities for the day on the event website www.bedfordgettogether.weebly.com . All of these activities will be announced from the main stage a few minutes before they start.
If you are offering food for sale at the event, please ask for Bill Mosley (or call or text 540-874-4840) when you arrive. Food vendors will be set up in two different areas, and he can direct you to the appropriate place.
